CEO/ Producer/ Engineer

“Lawrence T. James” Aka Lot

Lawrence James, CEO of Rogers Station Entertainment, was born and raised in West Baltimore.  The city that has some of the most talented undiscovered musicians and artist. Growing up in a very large household, with not only my immediate family but extended as well, music was everywhere.  Surrounded by my aunts and uncles who were very talented singers and musicians, it was my grandmother who was the heart and soul of not only my life but also everyone around her.At an Early age my mother instilled in me the value of knowing where I came from.  She had me and the rest of my family listening to all kinds of music including; jazz, R&B, classical, blues, reggae, country-western, folk, and gospel music.  When I reached grade school my mother decided to introduce me to the mother of all music, music from Africa.  My family and friend put together an African dance group in our community, which we called Alkebu-Lan Atiba.  We were made up of dancers and drummers( I played most of the percussive instruments) and toured all through out Maryland and the surrounding states.I performed with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Melvin Deal and the African Heritage Dancers and Drummers, and also the beautiful Maria Broom (actress, dancer and story teller) who was a native Baltimorean and formerly worked for channel 13 news, as an anchor woman. While playing the trumpet and other various instruments in primary school, the love of music called me to do other things.  As I began to grow I started playing for bands as a drummer and a keyboardist.  And I also began to do live recording and computer programming.  I also was influenced and mentored by musician Eddie Hazel, who played for Parliament Funkadelic and was the writer for the hit song Maggot Brain.  Getting further involved not only in music itself but also in the business side, I started out writing, recording and mix/ mastering my own music.  Which propelled me into starting my own business and thus recording other musicians music and movie scores.I have produced one of the great singer-songwriter musician of all time Al Johnson, who was the lead singer for The Unifics.  He also sang for artist such as Norman Connors, The Whispers, Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack.  While also writing songs for Deniece Williams (We Have Love For You) and Jean Carn (Trust Me), just to name a few.  Currently I’m producing artist Tara Michel, who began her career singing background for artist like Lauren Hill, Vivian Green and John Legend.  Her Album is expecting to come out in 2012.Working with great artist such as these, here at Rogers Station Entertainment, is the start to a beginning in a new era in music.  We strive to break stereotypical barriers in this industry and to teach people that you are never too young or old to do what you love.  Our mission is to learn from the past, take from the present and making something new and exciting for the future with no barriers and no boundries.

Mixing Engineer

Tyrone L. Washington, aka “Seeker”, first started in recording in “1993” opening Black Cat Productions with then partner Ray Chances.  In just 3 years he had a top notch recording studio running  Pro Tools on a Mac base computer system. Two ADAT link up to the system for 16 digital tape recording and endless computer base tracks using Logic Audio, now known as Logic Studio. In 2000 he set up Seeker AR, moving in the direction of gospel rap while also teaching studio engineering.

After taking a break from 2001-2004 because of military duty, he started recording out of his home while also doing work for local studios in the Baltimore area.  He is versed on several genres including Jazz, Country, Rap, Hip Hop, R&B and Spoken Word.  He has also worked on and/or produced a number of great CD’s as well.

Kisha Thomas is an assistant engineer at RSE.  A graduate of Lafayette College, she obtained a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Music.  She obtain a certification in audio engineering at Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts top of her class.  Since a young age she has been very involved with music and has a great appreciation for every facet it has to offer.  Never really wanting to be in the forefront she finally found her calling.  In 2008 she got the opportunity to be the sound engineer at her church, Elderslie St. Andrews UMC, and since then has guided her efforts into bettering this craft.   Just starting her career in the music production field, she is growing to be a great asset to the company and this field.
